Standing on top of the huge sand dunes in Lancelin, Western Australia, was the inspiration for this operation. With spectacular views of the sand dunes and surrounding coastline this location was perfect for an adventure tour. To enhance the concept a unique vehicle was required. One that could tackle the terrain and offer people an experience like no other, in comfort and safety. The vehicle in question had to be big and bold, like the sand dunes themselves and one that people could identify with. Therefore the decision was made to import a 32 seat American school bus along with specialised running gear. The bus underwent major modifications, transforming it into the world’s largest four wheel drive tour bus, known as the Desert Storm. Desert Storm operated its first tour in January 1998 and began building up a reputation as Perth’s ultimate adventure tour. In 2009 the original Desert Storm bus was retired. Taking its place was a brand new, purpose built, bigger and better vehicle. This new vehicle is the ultimate four wheel drive. For information on our vehicles please click on the following links.
