Information about Lancelin
Lancelin is a small fishing and tourist town nestled on the coast 127kms from Perth, on the coastal link to the Pinnacles.

The town stretches along the edge of a natural bay which is protected from the Indian Ocean by outer reefs and islands. The protected waters of the bay are ideal for swimming, fishing and boating. A fleet of crayfish boats call Lancelin home and can been seen unloading their catch at the jetty during the crayfish season.

Around the point is Back Beach. Away from the sheltered bay the ocean here is ideal for surfing and body-boarding.

Lancelin has an abundance of marine wildlife. Along with many birds, dolphins can often be seen fishing in the bay and also swimming in the waves at Back Beach.

To the east, the town is bordered by endless snow white sand dunes and is home to the Desert Storm 4WD. These majestic sand dunes with their magnificent panoramic views form the largest area of mobile sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere and cover an area of over 400 hectares.

The 5000 year old pristine sand dunes are shifting on a constant cycle and can form razorback angles of up to 60°. They are one of the few groups of sand dunes in the world that flow to the waters edge.

If you are looking at making your stay in Lancelin longer there are many choices of accommodation.
