The original Desert Storm vehicle started life as an American school bus before making its way to the shores of Western Australia. It was chosen for its distinctive character that is easily recognised throughout the world.

With only the original bus shell being used, major modifications were conducted. A space frame was manufactured to suit the bus shell, to which all new drive line components were fitted. Large flotation tyres 66x43x25 were used, giving the vehicle the crown of the World’s Largest 4WD Tour Coach.

Over the years the vehicle has performed extremely well in this difficult terrain, giving enjoyment to thousands of people around the world.

Because the vehicle was modified and not purpose built, it did have its limitations. Firstly, it was unbalanced due to its large bullnose shape which not only restricted seating capacity to 26 people but also applied most of their weight over the rear axle. Passenger viewing was also restricted due to the small front and side windows that is characteristic of this type of bus.

As Desert Storm Adventures endeavour to provide the ultimate 4WD experience Glenn decided the only way to improve was to use his knowledge and experience and build a purpose built vehicle from the ground up. The result is amazing. Click here to view.
